The Emergency Management and Continuity Planning (EMCP) Certificate Program provides participants with interdisciplinary training with an emphasis on "real" world experience. The courses that comprise the certificate are designed and presented by leading experts in the field in order to help individuals develop and refine their emergency management and continuity planning skills.

Response & Recovery | UIC Emergency Management Online Certificate

This course is designed to provide the student with the requisite skills to create strategic emergency management plans with a hazard-specific focus. Learn a cohesive approach to emergency management that includes operational plans to prepare, prevent, protect, respond and recover. This strategic hazard specific plan will integrate the Planning Cycle as method to maintain a high-level of continual preparedness. This course will also integrate the knowledge acquired in subsequent EMCP courses in developing functional operations planning to manage and coordinate complex natural, technological and political emergencies.

 

DISASTER RESPONSE AND RECOVERY OPERATIONS

This course is designed to provide the student with the requisite skills to create strategic emergency management plans with a hazard-specific focus.   • Course Goals:

    Identify and develop key components of a public health hazard specific annex for an emergency operations plan. Apply considerations of risk communication to manage evolving crises.

  • Learning Objectives:

    Demonstrate the ability to assess the utility of information and communication management systems to enhance the implementation of operational plans. Illustrate the ability to create, conduct, and evaluate exercises to determine plan efficacy.
