The Emergency Management and Continuity Planning (EMCP) Certificate Program provides participants with interdisciplinary training with an emphasis on "real" world experience. The courses that comprise the certificate are designed and presented by leading experts in the field in order to help individuals develop and refine their emergency management and continuity planning skills.

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited university is the minimum requirement for admission to the EMCP certificate. Application to the University of Illinois at Chicago is required for admission to the EMCP certificate program. Students must apply by completing the Graduate Certificate Program online application.

Three Easy Steps to Apply

 

STEP1 : Create your Online Application Account here Apply to UIC

  • Click on "First time user account creation" link and create a login ID and a six digit password

  • Select the application type "Graduate Campus Certificate" and click on "continue." Select Admission term and click "Fill out the Application form"

  • On the "Planned Course of Study" screen, Choose "Emergency Mgmt &Cont Planning (Campus Cert Non-Degree)"

  • Click the "Enter Other Majors, Minors and Concentrations" button. The "Concentration" drop down menu will appear. Choose "Emerg Mgmt &Continuity Planning" and click "Continue."

  • Review Application Checklist, click on "Application is Complete" to submit your application. Click "Finish Later" to complete at another time



  • STEP 2 : Submit Transcripts

    Besides submitting a completed application form and non-refundable application fee, applicants must submit the following information and documentation to the EMCP PROGRAM in order to be considered for admission to the Emergency Management and Continuity Planning certificate program.

  • TRANSCRIPTS - A copy or official baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate transcript(s) with degree conferred from an accredited university or college.

  • While a grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 is required, a GPA close to 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is recommended.

  • PERSONAL STATEMENT - A concise typed statement of the student's reason for seeking education in emergency management and continuity planning. Please be sure to include your full name at the top of your personal statement.

  • CURRENT RESUME OR CURRICULUM VITAE



  • STEP 3 : Submit Information and Documents to EMCP PROGRAM

  • Once you have clicked on the "Application is Complete" button and submitted a $60 non-refundable application fee, please send us an e-mail stating that your application has been submitted online.

  • Make sure to turn in all of your supplemental documents (listed above).

    All supplemental documents (including transcripts and TOEFL scores) should be submitted electronically by sending an e-mail to the EMCP program at emcp@uic.edu.
